In Indiana these are called Waffle & Steak due to some copyright thing (or maybe just the old ones.)

Still great.

So not ever seeing a Waffle House anywhere I have gone, what does "scattered, smothered, covered, chunked and capped" mean? And is this place a lot better than Denny's?

eh.. I've only been there twice on road trips to the south. I've never tried non-breakfast stuff there. It was the first time I had grits, which I like a lot.

I'd still say Denny's is better (at least for breakfast), but the people are a whole lot nicer at Waffle House, though that's true for just about the South vs the Northeast in general.

Double Texas Cheese Steak

Double Extra Crispy - Scattered, Smothered, Covered, Diced, and Peppered, and Capped

This is the greatest stoned/drunk meal ever put on a plate. I went to high school and college with a guy whose family owned all of the WH's in Alabama. He could just sign the receipt and all we had to do was tip the waitresses. Needless to say, in college I ate there a lot!

If you can't read the menu I posted (it's a little small)

Hashbrowns:

Scattered: spread around on the grill
Smothered: + Diced Onions
Covered: + Cheese
Chunked: + Diced Ham
Topped: + Bert's Chili (this is the only topping I avoid)
Diced: + Chopped Tomatoes
Peppered: + Jalapeņos
Capped: + Mushrooms

It's a little more casual that Denny's (is that possible?) I think the food + atmosphere is much better.

They also have a awesome jukebox that is full of terrible songs plus a whole bunch of Waffle House themed songs. The women who work there love it when drunk guys come in and play five bucks worth of promotional songs about waffles and hashbrowns

For the real aficionado, you can find one of these about every third exit on the entire stretch of I-20 from Dallas to Atlanta, and presumably beyond.

This needs to be added to the sticky as grounds for banning.

I overlook a lot of things but that is the stupidiest [censored] statement I have ever seen on these boards.

The best drunk place in the world would be House of Pies in Houston. I've never been drunk and gone there, but I went there once at midnight and their menu would be heaven: breakfast food, sloppy deli sandwiches, and a huge ass list of pies. God I want to go back.
