Actually there was a famous rec.gambling.poker poster about 5 years ago who always called people "maroons", His name is Doug Grant. Some of the threads he created were hilarious.

checking the flop is fine on this board, only thing that calls on the flop is a smaller pocket pair or T9, ...so we really dont lose much value in checking behind...

...on turn once the guy check/calls only a few hands he can have, including Jx, so the river bet shove is a fun move to pull on a lot of 1/2nlers
