CDMA is actually more advanced than GSM.

CDMA is technologically more advanced than GSM. But it doesn't make a lick of difference now that 3G and UMTS is out and/or coming out. WCDMA as an air-interface, combined with the GSM architecture is a hell of a system.

And they use SIMs.

Kyle B, the treo software is crap, join t-mobile and get this , im in love with it and the mp3 player is louder than my car stereo

Well, the most practical 4G solution is WiMax which is completely unrelated to either of the modern voice protocols, AFAIK AT&T is going with the UMTS-based LTE as their 4G solution and they'll likely stick with GSM/SIM card system for legacy support.

kyleb- That's not true at all. Verizon's handset selection destroys Sprint's, CDMA is just a smaller global market so there aren't as many total models available.

I just told you I can't switch, and EV-DO is much better than EDGE.
