Re: All Time Lineup - By Team
[ QUOTE ]
Beltre and Olerud I can't argue with, but Johnson, Boone, and Rodriguez all played at least the plurality of their careers with seattle so far. [/ QUOTE ] Except he said majority, which would be over half. Plurality would make more sense for the rule than majority though. |

Re: All Time Lineup - By Team
Pretty sure at this point we're telling his rule to shove it, just like anyone can do who tries to put Reggie on the Yanks and cites The Bronx is Burning as their case.

So Alvin Davis at first and third jim presley I guess [/ QUOTE ] And Betancourt at short, I think, because he's the only person that meets the rules Yeah, just stick with plurality and your original list |

Re: All Time Lineup - By Team
Hmm, my all-time Angels don't really put together too imposing of a team:
P Chuck Finley C Bob Boone 1B Wally Joyner 2B Rod Carew 3B Troy Glaus(?) SS Gary DiSarcina LF Garret Anderson CF Darin Erstad RF Vladimir Guerrero (ok maybe this is cheating, but seriously, look at this team. You're giving me Vlad, end of story. I'm not debating this.) DH Tim Salmon |

[ QUOTE ]
1. Tris Speaker, CF 2. Wade Boggs, 3B 3. Ted Williams, LF 4. David Ortiz, DH 5. Nomar Garciaparra, SS 6. Mo Vaughn, 1B 7. Carlton Fisk, C 8. Trot Nixon, RF 9. Bobby Doerr, 2B I wish Manny had more games played at DH. Oh well. Can I put David Ortiz at 1B? Carl Yastrzemski at 1B? Oh and Pedro for SP. [/ QUOTE ] Uh, I think you blew it on RF. Hello, Dwight Evans? |

Re: All Time Lineup - By Team
Royals:
1. LF: Amos Otis (I'm assuming this is his younger days to lead off) 2. CF: Carlos Beltran (so unfair I have to pick between Beltran, Willie Wilson, Johnny Damon, and Brian McRae may have been the best fielder of all) 3. 3B: George Brett 4. DH: Hal McRae 5. RF: Danny Tartabull (he played by far the majority of his games with the Royals) 6. 1B: Mike Sweeney 7. 2B: Frank White (would be in the HOF if he was on the coasts) 8. C: Mike McFarlane (no huge standouts at catcher) 9. SS: Fred Patek I'd stack that team against any except the Yankees. |

Re: All Time Lineup - By Team
Brewers
1. Paul Molitor, 3B/DH 2. Jim Gantner, 2B 3. Robin Yount, SS 4. Gorman Thomas, CF 5. Cecil Cooper, 1B 6. Ben Oglivie, LF 7. Geoff Jenkins, RF 8. Charlie Moore, C 9. Don Money, 3B/DH SP: Teddy Higuera, Mike Caldwell, Ben Sheets, Jim Slaton, Pete Vuckovich RP: Dan Plesac I included Vuckovich because, while he didn't play the majority of his career with Milwaukee, he did play 5 of 11 seasons with the team, more than he played with any other. I wanted to include beloved players like Rollie Fingers, Don Sutton, and Ted Simmons, but they didn't play on the Brewers for long, even though they were instrumental to the team's success in the early 80's. Honorable mention outfielder: Sixto Lezcano. |
