I thought you were saying:

"Technical analysts can be fooled into finding trends into a randomly generated chart, so they suck"

while you were saying:

"randomly generated charts have the same patterns as real charts, so it is hard to know whether a pattern is caused by randomness or an actual psychological (or other) effect"

Well actually you are saying that it's all random, but I guess my interpretation makes more sense
