yea you have no odds at all.... maybe check out the LHE forum for pot odds when you wanna draw to a 2 outer

[/ QUOTE ]

i'm getting 6.5:1 pot odds and huge implieds for a 1:20. I only called because the BB cold called the minraise

[/ QUOTE ]

you need 22.5:1 for 2 clean outs and they might have redraws and/or you might be drawing dead.

there's no way they have AA or JJ. Redraws are possible but i'm in position and can raise/fold out anything like that.

Anyways, i still like my call with BOTH players in. Key was the BB calling.

edit - no need for anymore replies, thnx guys

While it's probably very unlikely, ruling out AA and JJ is a mistake imo.

But yeah, this works if they both have top two pair and can successfully turn a set!

Sure it worked out - but aren't you being rather results-oriented in your thinking?

i called based on my reasoning above. I didn't call "just to hit a 9". I called because of the mathematical ev. Pretty much the only thing debatable in this thread is how much i can extra IF i hit my 9.

Both villains having AJ is the ideal situation since not only do they have hands that they may stack off with, but they also have a lower chance at a redraw to a full house since they are each holding outs the other can use.
Given these exact holdings, you can argue that calling for implied odds is possible in that situation.

More generally, what range of hands do you assign to villains? SB could have Ax, a set, two pair, a straight draw. BB's range is narrower, but he could have different cards than SB.

Against this range it's unclear whether calling is +EV -- I'm willing to be convinced otherwise if someone has concrete numbers.
