I don't think it's trivial, I just think it's obvious. I guess if you didn't take any algebra the math might seem revolutionary, but I didn't get much out of the book that actually helped me make decisions. The book basically tells you what questions you should be asking, not what the answers are. Sometimes that's really revolutionary, but in the case of NLHTAP I don't think it is.

Compare that with PNL coming out soon, and it tells you to ask the question "am I willing to commit" AND shows you how to decide.
