Yeah, I like the analysis of people are likely to take the 10k they won and use it for multiple smaller buy-ins.

I know of 3 or 4 people personally, that have done this. They took the cash, and played in smaller events, including venetian, and small bracelet events

That number is insane. You are counting reasonably people, who understand bankroll and EV, half of these people think the ME is the World Series. They just want to be on TV, playing against the pros. And I don't think you are adjusting for the number of online players who have been playing for a few years and are finally legal. Just look at what is happening to the average age. Growth will continue in this demographic, and they are generally fairly well bankrolled because of online poker, and have been waiting to play the ME for years, and are generally more easily able to qualify online.
