Are there a lot of Koreans in Canada or do they just really dislike the US?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not that we dislike the US so much as it's just no fun to cheer for the US.

Bad result for the US team. They played poorly, but still well enough to win.

Unfortunately, they play the ball from stationary player to stationary player way too much, and with very little on-ball skills as a whole, this leads to few chances. They just didn't look comfortable with each other. Meanwhile, the South Korean team is freaking fast. Their forwards blew past the defense way too often.

Of course, none of this would really matter if the ref had called either of the times a US player got hauled down on a breakaway. There were many legitimate penalties on US attackers when the defense would slip in front of the player with the ball and win the ball before getting run over. However, the two obvious plays in the other direction, no call. First Rogers is pulled down from behind near the end of the first half and then Jozy gets his legs swept at the end of the second. Two horrible no calls.

The Scottish and Japanese teams were practising at the community park across the street from me. So random. The field they used is a cricket pitch.

I guess it's kind of cool that this is happening here in Victoria (among other Canadian cities), but tickets are too expensive and I'm not sure if I'd even go if it was free. I was definitely more pumped when the 2005 Mens World Curling Championships were here two years ago.

Anyone watching the games today? I've been trying to find a live stream of the Portugal game but haven't had any luck. Unfortunetly I don't have Verizon so I can't login to ESPN360.
