Re: BEAT: I am Too Deep for BBV4Life to Understand Me
Am I the only one who reads Pattdown's posts and realizes that here is a sensitive poet confronted with life in it's most fundamental, not the trivialities we so often speak of in this forum, but existence in it's essential nature? Here is a man who confronts that inherent lack of meaning, the knowing that there is no God in heaven, no afterlife, but only this one, and rather than simply shrugging it all off, going on with his life as so many of us attempt to do, he is forced to grapple with those very questions about the self and about our way of life. Here I see the last in a line of philosophers who work under the radar, one who I fear will not be regarded as such until his time has come and gone. No, his life will not be one of fame and notoriety, acknowledgment of his immense genius, this wise soul is meant for other things. His thoughts are not for us, the lowly and desolate, but for a future generation who, with a little luck, will listen to his ideas and only then begin to confront the bare reality of their own existence. It is my only hope for us that we don't discourage him, drive him away, that instead we foster his development and allow him to continue his noble work with his chin up and smile on his face.

The above post reminds me, I feel like listing all the underrated posters in this thread.
Well there's PD-money of course. TJ combo, I don't think he gets his due often enough. Lionel is a solid poster, definitely under the radar. Yeah, I guess that about covers it for underrated posters. Drizzle |
