folding that flop seems indefensible

we have top pair withn a rag kicker on a board that has a ton of straight draws on it and a guy who bet into a fleet of people. i still fold.

What do you think his range is? I would say it is at least any 9, any 8, 67, TJ, 7T

Ok, so how often are you ahead? why are you so worried about the players behind you?

there are just a ton of cards that i'm going to need to dodge, not to mention that i may not even have the best hand. i just don't think that you pass up much here by folding.

my initial thought was to raise the flop as op did, it's basically what I would always do in this situation against this kind of opponent

then I started messing around with pokerstove and came up with these numbers

Board: 9s 8h 4c

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 52.972% 47.81% 05.16% 128280 13837.50 { 9c2h }
Hand 1: 47.028% 41.87% 05.16% 112335 13837.50 { 99-88, 44, A9s-A8s, K9s-K8s, Q9s-Q8s, J8s+, T7s+, 92s+, 82s+, 76s, A9o-A8o, K9o-K8o, Q9o-Q8o, J8o+, T7o+, 92o+, 82o+, 76o }

it basically tells us we are slightly ahead, but not by much

so we wouldn't be giving up much by folding flop, especially since we still have 4 players behind us left to act and the RIO we're facing, though I'd still raise bc raising >[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] than folding and I'd rather play more hands and push small edges than give them up

with the 7 sb already in the pot, this an easy raise in my book, bc the pot is laying us (more than) enough to continue

when we get check raised on the turn, I'm folding against almost every live opponent (this is a live hand??), unless I've got history with a player that tells me otherwise (dunno how aggro this particular villain is post flop)

This is a very easy flop fold. I laugh at tags who raise in this spot.

I'd like to hear why this is an easy flop fold, bc I'm not seeing it, plz explain

I've been too wide with my range for villain, new to pokerstove, but even if I narrow it down (still open for debate) and our equity decreases, I'm not liking a fold

Board: 9s 8h 4c

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 49.491% 46.04% 03.45% 91614 6867.50 { 9c2h }
Hand 1: 50.509% 47.06% 03.45% 93641 6867.50 { 99-88, 44, A9s-A8s, K9s-K8s, Q9s-Q8s, J8s+, T7s+, 92s+, 82s+, 76s, A9o-A8o, K9o-K8o, Q9o-Q8o, J8o+, T7o+, 96o+, 76o }

folding a 7sb pot with ~50% equity against a decent aggro type of player, in position, is a super easy fold?

what makes it a fold? the 4 players left to act, the rio, did I fckup on the pokerstove?

thnx
