I can't believe golf this bad is getting televised on national network television on a saturday afternoon. It's really hard to watch.

I also can't believe Ivey's swing is that ugly after all the time and money he has spent playing and getting coaching. If I ever find myself across the poker table from him and feeling intimidated, I'm just gonna think about him having graphite shafts in his irons. There is no way I can be intimidated by a man that has graphite shafts in their irons.

And lol at Phil in the interview saying there is never any pressure playing poker. Winning or losing millions in a single night in the cash games he plays must be about as exciting to him as sewing a quilt at this point.

The poker-like betting is a really interesting idea - I wish the pace of the telecast would have been slower, with more coverage of the shots the players were going to have to make so we could follow their betting decisions.

Has this form of golf gambling existed before this show? Playing a cash version (without the accelerating antes) could be really fun.

Trying to show four of these matches in a one-hour show was pointless. It might be somewhat better tomorrow, since they're only televising one match, but I'm not holding my breath.

I do like the betting game. I'm pretty sure it's not new. A lot of pros have been playing a game for years where they say "press" if they think they're the favorite to win the hole. That doubles the bet, then the other player can accept or decline the bet. It's like a limit poker form of this.
