who says a set will bet turn for value from Ax. Are you crazy? the only way to get value from Ax on the turn is to check.

that leads to him looking like hes betting because you checked turn. Or it makes you get Cr'd because this happened in your mind

Okay he bet out flop, standard c bet, on turn he gave up. So now i think my ace is good.

bah i dont even know why iam writing this.. why do people even want to help others? this is about money...

anyone who sees me write a post that helps someone out from now on (poker related, hh advice etc)

I don't mind the fold. But if he/we know that you are folding AJ on this river shouldn't we be firing like any 2?

Posting stuff like, 'If we know that he is folding XX in a spot like this then shouldn't we be firing with any 2', is just terrible. Would everyone stop approaching the game like that with nonsensical posts.

You never know if he has precisely AJ here so you can not use your full proof plan. AJ is in a range of holdings that also consist of better and worse hands then that.

OP,

I might be inclined to even b/f the turn here. If you are not calling a PSB on the river (which I don't fault) then you might as well take your shot at the pot on the turn. If called, you may get a free showdown. Obviously you are shutting down after that bet but the value in winning that pot either on the turn or at showdown with a better hand should balance the times yoou lose that turn bet.

tough spot, you check turn for pot control, but also to induce bet from pairs lower than aces, which fold if you bet turn. On the other hand, with big hand you either raise flop or bet turn. So the question is whether this player is good enough to put you on exactly the kind of ace you have and turn his JJ into big bluff.

If he is capable, its closer to a call. But I probably fold this, say wtf and take a quick lap around the house.

WTF. All I'm saying is that from a theory standpoint if his range for calling is tight then villian should be firing more. Stop attacking me just because you don't understand the context or don't agree.

I'm just throwing the question out there to make people think. Your taking what I wrote way too literally... i meant it as a counter point.

Right. It would be a bad idea in general to bluff anybody off an ace here. Sorry if I was confused. I just meant if villian had info which he clearly did not have.
