This may be the dumbest question ever, but does this chop mean they play it out for who gets the bracelet, and then just all meet up afterwards and exchange $$$ so they all get $400k?

[/ QUOTE ]

hopefully he got some signatures on a napkin and a witness or two

but yea, it's pretty sketchy-sounding

I think that the TD does the chop, or they all go to the cage together

No I don't think so.. It's been stated that the TD/Harrahs etc. have no involvement what-so-ever in the chop, it's all done by the players to avoid any possible legal repercussions.

Chopping is standard at most large tourney's. The WPT does not allow it though. Which ticks off a lot of players, due to increasing blinds and antes making them million dollar crapshoots. Not chopping sometimes is dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]

Good post. I never understand tournament players with a "no deals under any circumstances" policy.

At the 2004 WSOP Raymer made it well known to the other players he wanted to chop even at 5 handed. I donno if it ever happened though.

[/ QUOTE ]

raymer wanted to chop even with 5 left with well over half the chips in play?

mmmmmmmmmhm

[/ QUOTE ]

No sorry, he let players know (before the final table) once 5 handed he was interested in choping. Maybe he changed plans after he steamrolled the table.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought I remebered Grey posting that he did NOT want to chop at anytime because he was steamrolling the table, and that the other players didn't bother discussing because they also realized he would not agree to anything much under first place money. It's probably in a old post somewhere if someone wants to dig.

Your allowed to chop at the WSOP?

[/ QUOTE ]

if thats true, laaaaaaammmme

congrats tho

[/ QUOTE ]

Their stacks were identical with 20BB or so

[ QUOTE ]
Seat 2 - Justin Rollo - 2,125,000
Seat 5 - Ben Ponzio - 2,190,000
Seat 7 - David Hewitt - 2,160,000

[/ QUOTE ]

and this was the payout structure

[ QUOTE ]
1 $ 599,467 -
2 $ 374,216 -
3 $ 244,566 -

[/ QUOTE ]

In a situation like this for Jurollo, who's bankroll is probably 40k, you would have to be an idiot not to take guaranteed better than 2nd place money.

[/ QUOTE ]

his br at the time of deal-making was more like 280k but i see your point

edit: and GRATS TO JUROLLO of course
