Re: WPT Fathers and Sons thread
I agree with that assessment, most of what DVP said in the old WSOP telecasts was dumb, too dumb to even be inadvertently funny.

Re: WPT Fathers and Sons thread
[ QUOTE ]
The Dick Van Patten Experience was one of the saddest things I've seen on TV in a while. I've stated in an El Diablo thread that I get depressed when people get old, and this was no exception -- here is a feeble, nearly senile, clueless old man stumbling through a poker tournament with Doyle Brunson and Barry Greenstein on his right. [/ QUOTE ] He's only a couple years older than Doyle, I don't think age has that much to with it. I can hear him announcing the 1995 WSOP now: "Do you think he has Aces?", "How about this hand, maybe Aces?" |

Yeah I remember those broadcasts.
(some guy bets) DVP: He's betting, he must have [insert whatever hand is the immortal nuts]! |

Re: WPT Fathers and Sons thread
Only thing sadder than seeing Dick feebly call off all his chips is imagining the vicious diatribe Vince no doubt gave the old man once they were off-camera.

Re: WPT Fathers and Sons thread
I got home late and missed the beginning, DVP was exiting as I turned the tv on. Can anyone break down the hands he was involved in? I was disappointed to miss the beginning.
