Greg Oden = Michael Olowokandi.

You heard it here first.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oden is better right now than The Candy Man ever thought about being, and that isn't even taking into account his upside that GM's are just drooling over. I think absolute worst case scenario for Oden (barring a serious injury) is a Mutumbo like career. I believe most here would agree that Mutumbo had a little more serviceable career in the NBA than Candy is having.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think people are getting carried away when evaluating Oden's defensive downside. Mutombo was one of the best defenders in the league. Oden COULD be that great, but defensively thats certainly not his worst case scenario. I'd say that defensively his worst case scenario would be something like Samuel Dalembert.

I saw too many games this year where Wright was by far the best player on the floor (biggest one being vs OSU) to think he'll be a bust. They'll have to obviously develop him and get rid of his inconsistent play.

Julian Wright. Has no position, no offensive game, not strong enough. All hype.

Julian does come to mind as a highly rated pre-draftee with question marks. Where do you play him? He has size and span and attitude, he can run and jump and pass and even dribble a little. But he doesn't bang inside and he can't shoot outside and he's unpolished and inexperienced. He could be great, because he's so unusual. Or never find his niche. Much will depend on where he goes...

Too bad he had to go pro early. The curse of potential...

If Julian's mid-range jumper becomes automatic, he'll be a very good player. When he was making these shots, he beat his man off the dribble constantly and create (and should be able to do this in the NBA). Being a huge KU fan, I even got tired of announcers commenting on his awareness and passing ability.

Thaddeus Young will be better than Julian Wright.

Assani,
The NBADraft profiles of Wilcox and Wright are not similar at all. The profile for Wright is much better and from reading it they make him seem like a more polished player with more upside. Wright>>>>>>> Wilcox

Tough to predict any total busts in such a strong class unless you go outside the top 15, but I'll say that...

Al Horford won't bust completely, but he'll be about equivalent to Drew Gooden.

Jeff Green will be a career 6th man at best.

Brandan Wright will be Chris Wilcox, nothing more.

[/ QUOTE ]

As a Gtown fan who saw every game last year, I gotta agree with this. Someone asked me who I would rather come back this year, Hibbert or Green, and I laughed in their face and said "Hibbert kthx." Green is ok, but he won't ever make an All-Star team.
