Hi Edge, Try playing some 2/4 and 3/6 for some times nad experiment with as many things as possible. Try sessions without preflop raises, session with raising to 2bb, session with raising to 6BB. Always second barreling, never second barreling, checking top pair behind on the flop etc etc. Its all cheap and is fantastic for understanding how people play/react and give you great perspective on the game. You will probably win anyway whatever you try so some money will come along and morale will be higher as well [/ QUOTE ] This sounds exotic - like it could be very good in the VERY long run and possibly in the long run of just a month. But it sounds potentially very dangerous, like maybe it should only be tried when ur running out of options. Do lots of people try this? ive only heard one other person talk about anything similar to this but it heavily involved the use of poker tracker and it didnt sound like poker therapy but just general exersize and devotion to the game. |

[/ QUOTE ] yea, this seems like it will just make you lose at 2/4 and 3/6 and really hurt your confidence. |

the hardest thing in poker is to be able to admit to yourself that you need to drop down or re-evalute ur play so good luck man [/ QUOTE ] This is so true and at the same time I think people overlook it. GL edge I quasi went through the same thing recently... Played 2/4 a few weeks ago for the first time in over a year , just cause i NEEDED to book a win after tons of downswinging. |

[/ QUOTE ] what people don't realize is that a lot of this is bs. the problem in the first place is that people get confident because they make plays in -EV spots but run "range hot" and happen to be up against bluffs when rebluffing or against slightly worse when making bad vbets or huge calls. the converse is also true of course, and often people play worse when downswinging because they don't make as many profitable steals and just nit it up (i know this is something i often get into the habit of doing). |
