Re: My Story (Wow, did not expect this to be so long)
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing all the story.
I also hope I never lose that feeling when in Vegas. I went about 6 times over the past 2 years and every time I loved simply being in the city. |

Unless you have ungodly discipline, this is a story/lesson that everyone can relate to. Thanks for putting in the time to share this. |

I drove that amount all the way up to $1,400 before having the proverbial chair pulled out from beneath me. My roll plummeted like Disney’s stock after introducing Euro Disney, mostly due to post-bad-beat tilting and recklessly aggressive play. Somewhere, when my chip stack passed the $800 mark (again, though this time headed in the wrong direction) I remember telling myself I should stop. But I couldn’t, and more importantly, I didn’t. [/ QUOTE ] I've found myself in the exact same position over the last month and after reading your post I'm returning to my Limit roots and making money again. Thank you very much for sharing Kramer. Truly inspiring. |

Thanks for sharing, unfortunately alot of people view this as being a crybaby, weak, etc., but for alot of people this is the biggest challenge.

Re: Inspiring Commentary For Anyone Doubting Their Game or Losing Control
I think one of the biggest aspects of the game these days is psychology - more so than skills.
I believe this is the same situation in stock market investing. You need to manage the risk and variance through your choice of limits. There is no special technique - it's all down to discipline. Whether you choose 300 or a 600BB bankroll as thresholds for moving up or down in limits matters less than the process of actually following your rules. You can only profit from your edge while you have money with which to specuate. In the past. I've had to make the very painful transition from 2/4 back down to 0.5/1 due to an exceptionally bad few weeks. If I tried to ride it out at 2/4, I would probably be playing draughts right now. If I tried to win it back at a higher limits, I'd probably be very good at draughts right now. |
