I have a serious problem with black aces, gives me the hee bee gee bees, horrendous record in 2007 with them..... Maybe we should do a sacrificial burning to reverse our mindset when it comes to overpair draws Good luck though mate [/ QUOTE ] would you rather have: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] or K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] one has a two pronged mulatto flushdraw while the other does not. Make your choice gypsy. |

call the flop c/r and then re-evaluate the turn. If its a terrible card for you and he shoves then you can think about folding. If its safe and he shoves you can still obviously fold since your flop c-bet/call combo SHOULD affect his shoving range (if it doesn't he's highly exploitable). Obviously if you think he's fos a high enough percentage of the time then you call.
Calling with position is often far better than raising. Don't give up three streets of positional advantage by autoshoving every over pair you get. |

You should call and get the $ in on a safe turn, where your equity is greatly increased. It's probably a decent bit of negative variance to run into sets on drawy boards this often. You'll win a lot of $ flatcalling a c/r on a drawy flop with overpairs and sticking $ in on safe turns.

overpairs 101
is the player tricky/agro (meaning raises more than just 2 pair or better)? if the answer is yes then call/raise if the answer is no then fold/call if you dont know then generally call/fold if the board is drawy then sometimes check/call especially if youwill feel dirty if raised |
