At least tell me what you think about the hand. First you take my chips, then you give this guy your chips so he can take more of my chips! |

On the flop the pot is 26k why do you raise 13k more? [/ QUOTE ] To leave room for him to 3-bet shove. Obviously with deeper stacks I raise more, but here I was more concerned with setting him up than pricing out a draw I'm not even sure he has. |

Also, wasn't villain choppy, who has had a lot of tournament success? (Or maybe just won a Million?) [/ QUOTE ] No. Choppy was at the table, but wasn't Villain in this hand. I did have a kind of interesting hand where I folded to a shove from Choppy, maybe I'll post that as well. |

Re: Stars Million: Rough Spot With Bottom Set
If he CB > pot last time (what was the flop when he did this) then it's likely he has a draw or air now because if he hit a monster like TPTK...then he would try and porice a draw out. As he called your raise then a draw is more likely. AK, AQ, KQ, AT, TT is a good range. He may also do the same with A9. What types of hands has he made a small CB with? Do you think he is capable of bluffing the turn scare card? If not rule out AK, A9.
On the flop you made it pretty obvious you didn't want him drawing cheaply, making your range pretty narrow, if he's a thinking player he could think he can push you off. He could make the play with AQ putting you on a flopped pair. If you don't think he's capable of bluffing i put him on AQ, KQ, AT, TT. Anyone think this range is way off? now stove that bitch. You've got about 2.05:1 to call (i think) I would probably fold because im a weak/tight bitch and can't think like this when playing...yet! |

Re: Stars Million: Rough Spot With Bottom Set
I would fold. It just seem really likely he has a ten when he calls your flop raise, and if he doesn't he has to figure there's a decent chance you have a pair + straight draw type hand on the flop that just got there. He'd be crazy to bluff here.

Re: Stars Million: Rough Spot With Bottom Set
I like your raise, its exactly what I would of done. You extract most money with that line, your just unfortunate that a Queen (or a seven had it done so) has fallen. As it came out on the turn, I think you still have to call. There is no way he thinks you have a 10 (your raise doesnt exactly scream made str8, draw or tpanddraw). So his push IMO could be as little as QJ or AQ. Plus you have 10 outs if your behindd (assuming he hasnt outsetted you, in which case, bad break)

Re: Stars Million: Rough Spot With Bottom Set
Fouc,
This was a very tough spot, esp given how retarded villain was. Be sure of one thing however, there is literally no way villain was bluffing imo. That said he could easily have had QJ or other such weird hands. Kinda hard for me to judge w/o bias but when I saw him push my first thought was Tx-- still, not sure i get away. |
