I get your concept shawny, but it makes no sense to do it if you're going to play 2/4. The idea is that you put in enough hands to even out the variance, which you can easily do at 2/4.
The single situation in which insurance is a good thing, is when you find yourself in a really big game (say HSP) while you normally never play so high and see it as a one-time thing. I can imagine taking insurance there, because you're not going to be able to put in enough hands at that limit to even out the variance, and you can't afford taking a bad beat. But then again, if you can't afford taking a bad beat, you should not be playing in that particular game in the first place. |
