As the flop was being dealt I looked at my cards again (which is actually pretty common for me, just to make sure I've got the suits right). After the hand the guy said the look-back scared him. *shrug*

Heh, yeah, ironically if I'd been able to say "On second thought, I think I'll just call," that would have come off as way more shady than what I described in the OP.
