Follow the money - how many corporations make money off of Internet gambling?

How many stand to make money if Internet gambling is banned in the US?

How much money does the Christian Coalition have to throw around? How much of it will they dedicate to this?

Dead in committee

First, some schmuck introducing a bill is not an attack by the US government.

Second, this would be a difficult law to enforce. The only viable way methinks would be to get on banks and credit card companies to prevent the transactions in the first place, or to get on internet providers to block access to the sites...at which point someone offshore is going to come up with a provider proxy thingy to get around it.

Third, it is exceedingly unlikely that the justice department would be remotely interested in prosecuting individual offenders. Affiliates perhaps, but not players.

Fourth, it aint gonna pass.

Find out who your congressman is, and whether they are on the Judiciary Committee. Send them a short, polite letter informing them that you wont' be voting for them if they vote for this bill.

Follow up on that promise next election.

I have to agree with this. Bush says "We are to dependent on Saudi Oil, we need to cut down on our useage." He doesn't tell you that his buddies are the Saudi Oil guys.

My plan was to sell my condo and move to Brazil...now Brazil has cut off access to the poker sites. Guess I may have to play in the Rio casinos (hope the European players that go there aren't like the B2B network).

Vote if you wish, I'm curious to see what the majority here thinks, but I don't want to create 2 polls

I long for the day when I can return to playing live poker. Can't wait for the hour long drives and 2 hour waits to get into a game.
