Yeah, I don't like a turn c/r. River, I agree w/ Guru that it's a bet.

20/40 HULA, Level I
- Villain sitting in seat 1 with 1310.00 [Dealer]
- Hero sitting in seat 2 with 2690.00

Preflop: Hero is BB with: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="red">Villain raises</font>, Hero calls

Flop: (4 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero checks, <font color="red">Villain bets</font>, <font color="red">Hero Raises</font>, <font color="red">Villain 3-Bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Hero checks, <font color="red">Villain Bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (7 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero checks, <font color="red">Villain bets</font>, <font color="blue">Hero ??</font>

The end rapidly approaches.

Well, given that you didn't bet, I just call.

im fine check calling the river if we dont c/r the turn.
i dont understand the river bet as you are just going to pwnedtowned or collect nothing more often than valuetowning i think. it would really have to be read dependent because i haven't donked too many river cards in my matches.

i really think pressuring the turn is best. this is like the perfect hand for the stack sizes to bring some heat.

too much meta-game in HU matches to give the best advice but seems the standard is to c/r the flop, play a tad passive on the turn, and get a bet or two in on the river.

i guess i play cooky .

Results: Obviously not normally given but since the whole purpose of this thread is to discuss the dynamic that what makes sense to one person looks like fluke luck to the other, it only makes sense to show the hands. Again, I make no claims I played the hand perfectly, but "should" hero/villain see the result as a fluke?
<font color="white">
Villain shows: 6s 9h for 2 pair, Queens and Nines.
Hero shows: Ts Js for 2 pair, Queens and Tens.
Hero wins 9BB from the main pot
</font>
Discuss.

Zelda, you sucked out. You had a read that your opponent might be tilting and so you played as though he were (and given that he's playing, much less raising, 96o preflop, I think you were right).

You basically had a gigantic assload of outs against him all the way, and you won. Should he have bet the river, probably not. Would he have folded if you bet, probably not. Would he have folded had you c/r'd, who knows?

Is this whole thread because somebody said you were playing like a LAG? Toughen up.....biatch. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

No. It's a discussion to manage tilt-control if you were villain or find yourself in his shoes in a similar sitaution. I did suckout, but it wasn't insane ZOMG what a loser how could you do that? Perhaps playalong was a bad choice?

i'm not sure i see the point of the playalong; it seems like you both played the hand fine?

Tilt control mixed with a little strat. Inspired by tilt control and metagame discussion I guess. Not the best thread ever but meh.

Villain should check behind on the river. His PFR is pretty loose, too.

You pushed a draw in a not-so-good spot and hit runner-runner to win.

Results are meh.
