I think that I will just enjoy my irish whiskey at home. The only thing that these lack is a statement that they were based on actual accidents.

These ads are on nearly every ad break. There have been quite a few of them and they are getting more and more gruesome. You get desensitized to it after a while.
It's a big campaign now. New road laws have come in in the last year, we're now using the points system that's used in the UK. New speed limits, etc. The roads are still terrible though, I mean really [censored]. |

Re: wow Ireland doesn\'t joke around when it comes to anti-speeding ads
last time I was in ireland for 3 weeks, there were more reported accidents from people driving into cows at night, or getting killed in hurling matches than from speeding or drunk driving. I think they have it all wrong

The Danish are much better at stopping speeders (NSFW). [/ QUOTE ] It is a great idea...it seems so obvious...why didn't they think of it sooner? |

[/ QUOTE ] When I was in Ireland last March my rental was a Nissan Micra, I couldn't speed if I wanted to. That second one is def a anti-drinking and driving ad, nothing really to do with speeding. I agree that the roads are pretty shaitty. My wife and I stayed in Cork for our honeymoon and drove to Waterford and Cashel, Cahir and a few other places throughout Southern Ireland. -Brendan |
