Peeping Tom by Michael Powell

Mrs. Stephens: Instinct's a wonderful thing, isn't it, Mark? A pity *it* can't be photographed. If I'd listened to it years ago, I - I might have kept my sight. I wouldn't have let a man operate I had no faith in.

Cold Fever by Friğrik Şór Friğriksson.

No quotes. Here is a plot summary

"Hirata finds himself canceling his vacation plans to Hawaii when his grandfather reminds him of his duty to his parents. Seven years earlier, Hirata's parents had been killed in an accident in Iceland and Japanese tradition holds that their souls will not be at ease until the proper ceremonies have been performed. Thus, Hirata sets out on a journey, a quest to the river where his parents perished. Along the way, in this Icelandic-Japanese road movie, he encounters many difficulties, tough situations, and odd people in the land of fire and ice."

In lieu of a quote I will note that this film features a scene that takes place in total silence and is 28 minutes long.

I just saw this within the past year and I thought it was one of the creepiest films I've ever seen. I loved it.
