I wouldn't put too much blame on Shannon since she is relatively new to poker and may not have known the ethical implications of talking about colluding in order to ensure a better prize. Oh wait, isn't that common sense?

As for the situation, complete suck-age. TD should be flogged. Correction: TD should be flogged using Annie Duke as said flogging weapon.

The only good part of the story was that it was for charity. Personally, I'd be po'd regardless but ain't much you can do in these type events.

This is key, and it's not clear from Terrence's blog. If 1st and 2nd prizes were both a WSOP seat, then it's pretty bad. If 1st prize was two WSOP seats and they chopped it, then it's flat out cheating and much, much worse.

The saddest part is that Shannon always manages to get someone to sponsor her in the WSOP (unless that gravy train is coming to an end). You got screwed the TD should have done something, and a polite 1 player per hand to Annie either that or invite her to just sit down and play his hands for them.

IMHO Shannon needed Steve to fold out. From my read on this situation it appears that she wanted to be able to call herself the tourney winner. Unless either Danneman or Terrence gave their chips to the other then Shannon would be the unofficial winner (maybe the official winner). I believe this was her true motivation. It would certainly be my motivation if I didn't need the money.

annie duke was playing 30-60 on ub fairly consistently for awhile. now when i see her playing its at 15-30 (despite fine 30s running) so the only conclusion is that she sucks at poker and cant beat ub 30.
