kioshk,

way to be a condescending dick. I'm a huge fan of watching old Celtics games from the 80s.. the battles with LA, the team oriented style. I love watching the Suns and the Mavs. I even love Popovich.. I think he's the best coach in the league. But when every single player on your team whines about every single call, it gets painful to watch, no matter the quality of the ball being played. Even Brent Barry gets worked up on normal calls. The only guys who aren't huge whiners on that team are Finley and Uberto.

Duncan hasn't always been like this. Yes, superstars always do a bit more complaining, but now it's incessant and after every call (or non-call). Hands up, yell at ref, rinse, repeat.

If you don't like watching the Spurs, you don't like watching quality basketball.

In my opinion, the following teams in the NBA play quality basketball.

SA
Phoenix
Dallas
Detroit
Chicago

You could maybe lump a few other teams into this group as well. Now, if I hate watching the Spurs, I still have several other options of quality basketball, all without the constant whining.

I don't think people are complaining about the Spurs, Manu, or Duncan sucking.

Just because you know a player is excellent, doesn't mean you have to like them. I hated the hell out of Stockton/Malone because they were so dirty, but they had perfected that style, and that sweet pick and roll down to a science.

The Spurs are great, but they still are a bunch of whiny bitches. For all of the great basketball they play, it's very hard to watch a team full of superstars piss and moan for 48 minutes.

I saw Parker follow AI to the hoop, go over his back on a reverse-layup, then dive to the floor and slide five feet on his back. That play is a microcosm of why people hate watching the spurs.

Oh and the Nugs will beat the Spurs!

Crapiness watching the Spurs? You don't like teamwork? You don't like defense? Duncan's stoicism works against him on the whole "whining" thing. He's odd. He's a noncomformist. Too often when he makes a good play, he looks like a robot.

And Manu flops!! Forget his 3's. Forget his drives to the basket when he gets hammered without a call. Forget his steals and his hustle. He's a stinking foreign flopper.

Crappiness of watching the Spurs? That's rich. Three titles in the last 7 years. If you don't like watching the Spurs, you don't like watching quality basketball. Go rent a Dominique Wilkins highlight film and have fun.

Duncan may be better than Garnett(and its very close), but Garnett is a 100times more fun to watch(last 2yrs aside which have been painful but not KG's fault)

If you don't like watching the Spurs, you don't like watching slow, methodical, drawn-out, EXTREMELY boring basketball.
