He had shades on, and was carrying a black bag; obviously he had come with one intention.

Okay, I'm a moron. I don't know what this means.

Regarding the guy: I either tell the cafe owners or I go up to the guy and tell him that his screen is viewable by other people and you would be more comfortable if he didn't browse such sites in a public cafe.

I doubt cops do much. No possession and a million excuses. If you tell shop owners maybe they bar him so he goes somewhere else. You're not going to fix the world by yourself.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you are wrong, I think a lot of cops do something about it.

'I didn't DO anything officers! This machine must have something wrong with it! I was trying to get to Yahoo to check my mail and it kept bringing up these sites! It must have a virus or the person before me accessed these sites. I would've asked for help but it was too embarrassing so I figured I'd just leave.'

Yeah, the cops are going to bring this to the DA.

cell phone camera + computer forensics + a lock when it goes to trial in a child porn case, leads me to believe that this would be taken pretty seriously.

So "building a case" is just a myth from Hollywood? This guy happens to get redirected to an "illegal" site and boom he's looking at 10 years behind bars?

Are you [censored] stupid? did you get dropped on your head? There is a process before going to trial, there is some hard evidence, enough to get an investigation started, and the PR level is also there. During the investigation if its found your [censored] excuse of TGP circlejerks is proven true, he goes free. learn to read before getting condescending you child porn advocate.

He was clearly looking at them on purpose. From what I could see they were nude pictures, not showing sexual activity. Who knows how long ago the pictures were created, and in what country - he is very, very, very indirectly culpable of the crime of their creation; he hasn't financed it, but he is part of their market; it is because of people like him that the pictures are made.

Whatever idiot -

there are pictures of nude minors. He is flicking between sites rapidly and not looking at photosets and not logging on, so my impression is he is not inside the member's areas / hasn't signed up.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep, throw away the key!

If anyone is following this lame ass conversation, am I being unreasonable in the least? Am I crazy? At any time did I advocate we should throw the guy into the slammer sans trail? Is bradleyT a complete moran? I mean there is a difference as I understand it between starting an investigation, and putting someone into jail correct?

Sorry, that was a non-sequitar. He just happened to have a bag on him, doesn't mean anything except maybe that he was out for the day.
