The only reasons I can assume people arent doing this are:

B. They don't want to deposit since they are afraid they wont get it back out due to laws, etc.

I have $140 on Bodog that I grew from $20 that I left over after cashing out $1,500 around the time that the UIGEA hit, which I grew from $70.

I have $1,300 in live roll that I play at the boats with, all profit.

I have a job and have plenty of disposable income, but I'm not putting any money anywhere until this thing blows over. I don't even know how to deposit money onto a site anymore. I just want to reduce my variance and increase my payout rate on the deposit.

I don't use my own money to play poker with, that's the only way that I can justify it to my wife!

THE DON POSTED ON MY THREAD!!!! THAT'S ALMOST AS AWESOME AS WICKSS HIMSELF DOING IT!!!!! I'M STILL ECSTACTIC THOUGH!!!

[/ QUOTE ]I've been making the rounds lately.

Your wife is a NIT!!

If your not risking the mortage she shouldnt care especially if she spends money on nonnecessities. Responses like that make me appreciate my wife even more.

My wife doesn't spend much money as I hold the checkbook, but it is a mutual thing. If I ever go busto I will just quit playing, therefore I manage my roll very tightly and always seek the best advice!

Based on advice I got from the Don King of Micro-SNGs, I'm posting this information request to the public for advice.

I just got a $12 pop from Tworags.com and a $50 bonus from FTP and am thinking of making a run at it on FTP.

I've got 2 weeks to earn the bonus from FTP and can hopefully make a working bankroll on that sight with it.

What are your suggestions for my game selection?

(This is semi-serious, though I don't really plan on turning pro, just building a working roll on that site.)

I am typically a full ring $10/NL or $25/NL player, I've had MTT success but don't feel like this is a large enough roll to take a few shots at MTTs. Back when I played on FTP I had some success w/ the turbo SNGs but they were so small that I don't know if this will be enough bang to earn any reasonable piece of that bonus.

What will give me the most bang for my buck while keeping my variance under control?

Edited title bc it was ambiguous. -wiggs

[/ QUOTE ]If you don't want to play $1 sngs, you're next best choice would be $10 NL tables. Five buyins isn't much but it would be only other option on FT. Sites that have penny tables are great for building your bankroll. Last year, I withdrew all but $25 on UB. By playing the penny tables and $1 ultra turbo sngs, I built it up to $150. I also built my Stars BR from $50 to $500 by playing penny tables, $10 tables and $3.4 sngs.

If you play several times a week, it shouldn't take long at these levels. Don't worry if you have to play low stakes. Winning poker is fun poker.

Of course, you could always play limit poker.

How come everybody on this forum has <$50 to their name?

Why not deposit a regular amount of money and play whatever game you feel gives you the best edge at a limit than can result in shipping some mobnies?

I mean, there are still jobs available in the U.S. aren't there? Can't you park cars for like... I don't know... a week, and then deposit a few hundred instead of trying to build a roll from $12?

Seriously, this whole "I only have a few cents left and need to know what to do!" stuff is really depressing.

i never got this either, the point of building a roll off of money you have or from another job is perfectly legitimate....i would try it, youre putting too much pressure to perform with too narrow of stipulations. I grinded back up from under 3 dollars in my account playing micro cent 7 card stud and it was an incredibly painful, long and arduous process and i wouldnt recommend it.

Check that, played 9 $2.25s and 1 $1.25 for a $21.15 profit. 93% ROI

Day 1 of building a roll from scratch is in the books.
