This should be a really no brainer push unless sb is a huge nit. With no info on him except he's chip leader, this is an easy shove. However, I do think this is buy-in dependent. Re-steals aren't quite as effective in micros as players don't steal quite as much. Lastly, I'd almost prefer a hand that did better when called. Meaning, when you get called here, A8 probably isn't in very good shape. 98 is probably in better shape against Big Stack's calling range. But, you don't get to choose your hands. I could understand a fold here though given that OP has little info on the villain and a hand that doesn't play well when called. However, I think in the long run, shoving in these spots is +cEV. |
