Hit the nail right on the head.
My main problem with tournaments has always been these bubble situations.
From what I understand, bubble play is what separates the winners from the losers.

The only MTT bubble play that seperates winners from losers is stealing blinds from those that think they're playing the bubble well by being uber tight.

SNGs are another story, where bubble play is everything.

There is more to good bubble play than stealing blinds. A lot of players are either somewhat scared or trying to take advantage of the bubble and steal. There are various adjustments and ways of taking advantage of both tendencies.
