Sticking your head in the sand doesn't change the fact that there are two armies facing each other who are armed to the teeth and itching for a fight.

[/ QUOTE ]

1) I doubt the Iranian soldiers are itching to fight the US and get killed by the thousands.... nor are they armed to the teeth for such a fight.

2) The US is already in a fight over there.

Wouldn't be surprised to see air strikes, but do not agree with your assessment.

The reports come as the Iranian chief of staff, Hassan Fayrouz Abadi, was quoted on Saturday by Iran's Fars news agency warning leaders of Arab countries that Israel plans to open a "suicidal attack" on its neighbors this summer, to "prevent the withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq and the area."

[/ QUOTE ]

Nonsense. Israel would never start a war without an authorization from US today. it's not 1967 anymore when USS Liberty tragedy happened.

What? The Iranian administration is irrationally scaremongering? Good thing we're immune to that here.

Default The market says...

At www.intrade.com they are trading in contracts of overt Israeli or US airstrikes in Iran.

Currently "airstrike before end of June" is trading at about 12% an "airstrike before end of year" at about 28%.

Thanks, you and some one else noted this, I meant the military higher ups in the US, Iran and Israel. Not very many people who actually have to go to where the "metal meets the meat" actually want to go there.

don't know how accurate an information market is in a situation like this where much of the information needed is highly controlled.

Wonder if it is illegal for the Pres to bet on his own team. Hey Karl, why don't you buy me up 2000 of them intrade contracts before we announce this strike tonight.

Okay. I don't think the military higher-ups in Iran or Israel are itching for another full-blown war in the region either, as both have tremendous amounts to lose and little to nothing to gain. The US is another matter.
