I believe I had a flush draw on this hand if I recall. You need to either pot or c/r the turn but betting is def>c/r imo. check/calling is horrible esp this deep. With top 2 vs an aggressive player you need to try get all the money in there asap. You can't let my flush get there for free.

move down in stakes? only cause you are playing what seems like very scared poker once you build up a stack.

op doesn't need to be told to move down in stakes. jesus! I'm sure he posted this hand bc he knows he played it poorly and wanted good advice.

did not mean it in that way, i have no idea who op is or what his roll is and have never played with him. that said, im sure he knows that he played this hand too weak as he expected to try to lose the least for some reason against a set or catch a bluff against a busted draw, which is missing a ton of value.

Let's say you knew he had Ah8h. What's the most profitable CR size? Do you want to raise just big enough to kill implied odds and make any river action (i.e. your crying call) -EV for him to call? Or do you want to raise a medium amount that he can correctly call, but you aren't pot committed when the river is a heart? Or do you want to raise a small amount, hoping to induce him to shove (minraise ftw)? Or do you shove, making him correctly fold?

[/ QUOTE ]
This is really the crux of the thread. I felt I should CR turn, but I couldn't decide how much... so I chose the worst option and called. And I still don't know how much.

Consensus is I should be happy to get all-in, but if I CR shove and get called, I promise you I am not happy, because I narrow his range down to precisely sets. (I don't think even JhTh or 6h5h call.)

On the other hand, bet/3bet shove, or a CR that induces a shove, would be more appropriate options for getting all-in against a range I'm doing well against, but I don't know if HEK takes the bait on either of those moves.
