That's totally money. So much of this stuff is just sort of articulating and systemizing basic stuff that you do when picking up a girl. I could never have described this specific move, nor do I consciously do it, but if I think back it's something that I do all the time to sort of move things along, like heading out of a bar or whatever.

What is so stupid about this is that people take the time in effort to "learn" and classify these things. It basically teaches losers how to perform basic interactions with not so intelligent females. These things that come naturally to many are "taught" but no real people skills are taught with it. They are taught to think of things as a big game and thus many of these people develop a seriously warped view of reality, eventually leading to emotional problems.

Seems to me like you can pretty much just ignore this "Game"/crutch stuff, as you seem pretty confident. Drop her a line, see if you can make plans. When you do, don't let the conversation focus on the past or old common acquaintances too much--this was a time when you were friends, and you should be kind of clear that you're not just interested in continuing/reviving a friendship. Just FYI, I've found that instead of "do you want to get together for drinks this week?" something like "let's get together for a drink Thursday" or "let's get together for a drink Thurs or Fri - eitehr one better for you?" tends to work a little better for me.
