Re: Crying call on the river?
Reading this thread I think I make the same error as tbe OP - donking out into LAG.
If the pre-flop raiser was not a LAG would you play it the same? What if there had been no preflop raiser, should you bet out then? |

[/ QUOTE ] it really doesnt have much of anything to do with him being a lag. when and how u should value bet or raise draws is pretty complicated and I wont try to give an overview cuz i doubt id do a good job, but if ur tendency is to donk ur draws in spots like this uve probably found a leak in ur game. Post some hands where uve done or been tempted to donk a draw. |

Re: Crying call on the river?
[ QUOTE ]
Well I'm not sure how to measure my donk rate but I know full well I don't donk enough because I hardly ever donk a raised pot that i called into from the blinds. So I fully admit I'm biased against donks to begin with, maybe to my peril. [/ QUOTE ] IMO, (generally) the only good reasons to donk in a multiway is with a PF raising lag on your left with a weak made hand or one on your right with a strong one/huge draw. This hand is a moderate draw given the dirty outs. Ergo donking = bad. |

Re: Crying call on the river?

I like your bet on the flop. You want everybody to contribute to the pot and I think a bet does just that. The pot is to big to fold against an unknown player on river. Well played! [/ QUOTE ] Your hand sucks. You don't want 2 or 3 bets going in here. You have a marginal hand in a good size pot. I'd check and hope it gets checked around. Betting here is horrible. If the PFR has a pair, he'll raise, and we are charging ourselves double, and shutting everyone else out. Also, if he just calls, and the turn is a J, and we bet, and he raises, i'm not sure I like my hand that much anymore. If the flop was T72 rainbow, that's different, you have a very strong draw. dont fold the river |

bob would u bet the ace high flush draw here? [/ QUOTE ] as i stated in my other post, if we bet, the PFR is going to raise with a pair, and we are therefore losing, and charging our selves more, and shutting the fish drawing dead out of the pot. If anything, just c/r with your OESD here, OP, that's better than donking. AT least you trap some ppl that way. |
