with the 2 you can rep a hand

This is a good thing for us here.... why?

I don't see how the other benefits you mention are caused by the 2, and not the 3.

[/ QUOTE ]

the chances of getting bluff raised on a 3 turn are much, much higher. i guess at the same time the chances of getting called are higher. meh, either way i guess it matters how tricky he is on the end.

i'm trying to think how i like a weak lead, and i don't think i mind it. i think 1/3 ish of the pot with intentions of calling a raise is okay IF he's that type of player- or maybe a river CR. but like isaid i think a 6 checks behind so much

But if we're calling/re-raising, this is a good thing.

I think we're more likely to be value raised by a better hand, if we go with the weak lead, and we don't get as much value from worse hands

obviously it has the benefit of inducing more bluffs, though

The 3 on the turn also makes it much less likely that HE has a boat.

doesn't it just depend what level he's on? when i lead for half the pot on the river, i sometimes get a curious call from not so good hands and i sometimes get bluff riased (i really traad lightly when doing this, i mean i'm not betting third pair and calling shoves [that much])

but really, i don't know i think it just comes down to this. if we bet close to full pot, he's gotta be right more often when calling obviously, but if half pot is more effective (you say it looks less bluff obv it does) in getting him to fold, shouldn't we be using tht a lot as a bluff since it's on sale for half price?

sometimes i bet this river half pot with hadn with no showdown value whatsoever obviously becuase people just assume i'm never bluffing there and fold small pair or ace high- but since they don't have to be right that often they start calling me medium sized bets then with their mediocre hands

i think what i just rambled on about was random nth level thinking, there's counter to everything just about obviously in this game

yea but he just said that even with the 2, this guy wasn't tricky enough to get checky with it

True enough. He'll call a smaller bet more often, so you need to try to guess percentages for calling/raising to really get an answer here, as far as which is better overall.

OTOH, the full potish bet makes it look more like we have the nuts or a bluff, and since it really doesn't look like we have the nuts, I think we can get a lot of loose calls.

Pretty good spot for it. Folds out a whiffed draw a good amount, and that alone could make it +EV.
