As an expert, what would you suggest he do in order to make his business more attractive for a birthday party situation? Its good to hear from those that really know what they're talking about. |

Keep in mind that it's not the kids that you have to convince about the birthday parties... It's their parents. They might also have a hard time seeing the fun in having their kids spend their birthdays on their computer without interaction with their friends.
Also... I would suggest that you should make an attempt to talk to other Licensees to ask things like: -Would they do it all again if they had the chance -what their earnings are like -what problems they ran into -etc, etc, etc |

Re: Here\'s my business venture ... discuss
Someone mentioned above that you shouldn't "buy a job." This type of business seems exactly like that. You are going to be trading your current job for one that you have to pay to have. I would think you'll want to make sure that you can make about double your current salary to take on this startup risk.
There are probably more attractive business opportunities than this to throw money at. Ideally you should be looking for something that has room for growth beyond the hours that you have to put into it. |

Re: Here\'s my business venture ... discuss
Not bad for a 2nd post.
As a parent, I actually would rather have a birthday party at my house, under my supervision, at half the cost of going to one of those packaged birthday party deals that cost $300 or so easily, before tips, etc. I don't see special events as a huge part of the business initially, as I would rather grow the recurring revenue stream of the business at first. As to the others that say I shouldn't buy a job, talk to other owners...I have considered all of those things already. I don't think I am going into this venture with my blinders on. Will I get rich on the venture? Probably not. Will my work be more satisfying and rewarding? Absolutely. Am I ready to take a chance in life and build something for the future? Without a doubt. |
