"Gina - Paint It Black"

Could be her chance to shine

I was thinking the same thing. This seems like a good fit for her and she gets a spot towards the end right after terrible Sanjaya.

Seriously? No way -- I mean I love that song, but it's a terrible choice. It's way too easy to sing; shows off very little vocal range. All it is is a rock song and if she tries to posture like Mick Jagger it will be embarrassing. Horrible mistake, and I was just starting to like Gina (really enjoyed her "Love Child" last week).

[/ QUOTE ]

I love that song too, but it's by no means easy for a woman to sing and still get that faintly sad vibe right. In fact, I'll be very surprised if she does it well. And that's not a good outfit for it, either. Blah.

...and I'm so wrong. Wow, she nailed this.

edit: I wish she'd nail Simon in the face with her shoe

Yeah I have to come here like a man and admit that I was so wrong too. I liked her melodic changes a lot. Definitely one of the better songs of the night.

Against all my better judgment and prior assumptions, I have to admit that I now like Gina.

I thought it was horrible, personally. And she didn't follow Lulu's advice at all to really scream it out like Jagger does. Weak.

I agree, it was awful. Simon nailed the critique as usual keeping it real.

I like Gina, but that performance was all wrong for AI.

I thought it was pretty bad and she looked gross, last week I think she looked much prettier.
