Re: lol slowplays always work
josh, i agree that if i knew he had a set then slowplaying this board would be the obvious play, but when we dont know his range that precisely, it isnt necessarily the best play (especially if i lay down the best hand on the river). the question is how confident we have to be in our reads to make slowplaying > shoving turn?

[/ QUOTE ] well SB raise + 2 barrelling AQT, so i figure he's got a pretty big hand. if calling the turn is best, i don't know if it's as a slowplay as much as you wanting to see the river card before getting it in. |

Re: lol slowplays always work
Flop flatcall I like, but so many cards on riv after the turn can kill ur action/put u behind in the hand, so i probably just get it all in there, esp vs tag who cant rele put u on ur hand, and will put u on more something like QTcc or somethin. That laydown is meh- if he's ubertag/ubernit i guess fold but i can't fold this.

Re: lol slowplays always work
i like just calling the flop, in fact i would dislike a raise, your hand would look really big. On the turn I would raise almost always. Don't give him a chance to get away from it. River is a close fold I think. I agree with ae that he can be vbing a worse hand, I just don't think he is enough, and he does look very strong here.

How would you play TT here on all streets? |

Re: lol slowplays always work
you're folding TT here as well, right Sensei?
Although I guess you having TT precludes him from having it ... Anyway I hate the fold and think that a turn raise gets called by all the hands that call a river shove, and probably more hands that might be semi-bluffing. I mean, that's the whole point of slowplaying, right? To both increase two-barreling frequency (i.e. bluffing) as well as to confound your opponent's perception of your range, as well as open up HIS range for calling any potential raise later in the hand. The conditions just don't seem right for a slowplay on the turn - though a raise looks super-strong, you're just not likely to get looked up by AK with a river shove, and it's not like your hand can possibly let another hand catch up to make the 2nd nuts (e.g. KJ on a QT9 board, turn 8). |
