Use even the smallest amount of common sense. Do you really think there are enough votes that house and senate will repeal this act? There is a clear majority in both that is antigambling. Both dem and rep. This is nonsense. There is a better chance of Bush being elected to a third term. The best thing that could happen is for the discussion of this matter stop and no regulations written as to how act will be enforced. The 180 days towrite the regulations is almost up. With no regs as to enforcement the act is essentially worthless.

If Frank would say, "LOL Donkaments" in a speech maybe we could all send him $35,000?

I can't see Bush signing a repeal unless it is tucked in some sort of budget authorization-like bill.

Hahah...put it into the next bill re-authorizing the Patriot Act. He'll have the ink dry before he even grabs the pen to sign.

Question for those who know how the House works:

If Frank wanted to do this, how would he?

Introduce legislation, or introduce it as an amendment to already-introduced legislation.

In order to attach it as an amendment, the committee considering the legislation has to approve inserting the amendment. All of this is long before an actual floor vote.

In addition, Frank is simply a member of the House. Someone's going to have to carry the water for this in the Senate, as well.

Hey I'm happy someone in Congress realizes this was a crappy bill to begin with. At least someone on the inside is fighting for us.
