I had surgery on my esophagus about 10 years ago. Almost anything solid I ate went down like that for a while. I can't really offer any solutions though, as nothing really worked for me save a lot of blended foods and shakes.

As long as it's past your wind pipe and slowly working its way down, although uncomfortable, I don't think there's much danger. I never had any problems.

Thanks for those with serious replies. Still no luck getting anything down since it keeps coming right back up. I did try the soda thing as well and it didnt work. Looks like I am going to have to wiat it out. My chest is super sore now and its suck but oh well I'll make it through.

As an ER MD I can tell you that you should go to the ER and be treated for this. Esophageal erosion and perforation are very real complications and not pretty. If you cannot swallow liquids, go now.
