i'd check the flop pretty often

Are you checking the flop here in hopes of representing something like jacks? What are you doing on this flop if we have a hand like 10 J instead of AQ?

I don't get it, we 3 bet this guy all the time, get as good of a flop for aq as we can expect and we shut down?

I'd take different lines here depending on how last few pots have been played, but I want the money in.

I hear ya, but at the same time if we get a river bet called we're taking like $125 off the guy and I think that is quite reasonable.

When we're playing in a reraised pot, and we hold TP2K, and we're holding *exactly* what we're repping, I feel that many times we put full stacks in we come out behind (assuming villain isn't a retard). Does anybody really stack off over 3 streets with AT or KK here anymore? (maybe on Party, heh - god I miss Party)

You are not shutting down. You are checking the turn in part for value on the river.

i'm reconsidering, didn't read the op carefully. given the read, i'd probably bet the turn and shove the river. with no read, i'd check the flop sometimes, check the turn sometimes, etc.

YES, AK is different than AQ here! AK is part of the villain's range.

if i had JT i would bet the flop. but that doesn't mean i can't check a flop when i hit sometimes.
