technicality but i don't think it's right to call it a backdoor flush because no $ went in on flop. From his perspective a flush isn't unlikely in the way it would be if he had bet flop and you called.

yeah, if anything, clubs would be a lot more disguised than diamonds even though the diamonds came "backdoor"

I don't raise the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

wow, really? i like a fold as played, but imo we should be raising this river for value.

[/ QUOTE ]

given villains bet sizing, he doesn't often have a hand that can call.

For instance, 40 into 75 isn't a very strong hand.

it works both ways though. the small bet makes it less likely that we're looking at a huge flush. also, that he bet at all, instead of checkraising, makes it look more like a straight, top 2, or small flush than A-Q high flush

you're right though that it's not a complete no-brainer like people are making it out to be, but i think i still favor a raise. people are generally paranoid and it causes them to make bad calls

I think this is called, and this is coming from someone who has been shown a bigger flush in this situation 100s of times.

Villains sometimes convince themselves that no one was on a backdoor flush draw when they themselves hold a strong hand (i.e. j10 or set).

Also, what are the odds

Well when posting on this forum I think you should fold.

However, during an actual game, I doubt I'd fold this more than 10% of the time.
