If those who attack Fox would be willing to admit biases at other networks, I would be willing to take them more seriously. But when you only find conservative bias, and apparently deny any liberal bias elsewhere, then it is difficult to take them as honest critics of the news.

Ed would admit, I'm sure, that he wasn't an NPA when he got the title.

My sense is that Fox's biases are more blatant than the others', but I'm a lefty so I'm not the most objective observer. Fox seems more in-your-face than the others. Part of that might be that their opinion personalities (Hannity and O'Reilly come to mind), are in-your-face.

You are correct. Fox News is more blatantly conservative than any other networks are liberal. One is over the top, while the others are generally more subtle. There are a few exceptions at the other networks, such as CNN's Jack Cafferty. The Sean Hannity of the Left at CNN.

tonight one of their headlines/commentators suggested it's actually a Secret CIA Cabal that was working to undermine the President/VP - LOL -

I think you'll see a boycott of the Fox covered Nevada Democratic debate too, esp. after they started covering for Ann's remark -

at least they've dropped the pretense of being fair and balanced - no one was buying it anyways -

Now you know how right of center people feel watching the other news networks and the big 3 broadcast networks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Perhaps the reason right-wingers feel so persecuted is that they are consistently defending dishonest and dishonorable positions.

one of the four counts he was found guilty of involved lying to FBI agents, so the headline "not quilty of lying to FBI" is false.

Here spin this one:

Certainly a conservative slant - not surprising from Fox - but I am guessing it is addressing the issue that you have a 3 year investigation in which there was no underlying crime, with the only conviction being for lying during the investigation of a non-crime.

Personally, I think perjury is a very bad crime, and I agree with Fitzpatrick that if someone is guilty of it, they should be punished. To bad some of the people saying that today didn't feel the same when another high level goverment official clearly perjured himself in a lawsuit.

That said, the conservative take on this seems to be that the investigation should have ended much sooner ... early on Fitzpatrick was in possession of the identity of the person who leaked the name - Armitedge from State - and many people (e.g., New York Times, Wall Street Journal) concluded very quickly that there was no crime involved even assuming all that Wilson said was true (and very little of it was). They would argue that the investigation should have ended earlier and this would have never happened.

I think that explains the banner you see there.

........."Certainly a conservative slant"!!??

Surely you jest?

Is a news service supposed to be reporting the news factually, or spinning it to fit a particular political agenda?

Before you respond with something like....."Well the liberal mews media do the same thing" I will state it, and I find it equally distasteful and disingenuous.

Why would I respond? We seem to agree.
