Re: Full ring softer than 6m?
So that then begs the question "Can a good LAG make more money FR or 6-max?"
Does the answer become the same: 6-max = more money but more varience, FR = less money but less varience? |

[/ QUOTE ] i dont know that there is a clear cut answer, but that seems like as good of a general rule as i can think of, and that has been my results (smallish sample size at FR though). FWIW im not sure what is considered LAG at FR, but i am about 20/14.5 over 15k hands so far so that may not even be LAG at FR. im guessing its borderline LAG/TAG, kinda like my 25/21 is at 6-max |

[ QUOTE ] I have played over 100K hands at both 6max and FR and suprisingly my FR winrate is more than at 6max and variance isn't not nearly as brutal. [/ QUOTE ] Perhaps you are not a very good SH player. The best WRs in 6max are much greater than the best WRs in FR. [/ QUOTE ] I know I am not a good short handed player. I was a meager 3.8 ptBB/100 at 6max (25nl-100nl) and am 5.5ptBB/100 at FR (25-200nl). |

Re: Full ring softer than 6m?
I play like 23/13 FR I don't know if that's "LAGGY' enough for a compairson. 25/20 6 max.

Re: Full ring softer than 6m?

i can tell you my favorite part about 6-max is that its much easier to isolate bad players and pick on them repeatedly. at FR too many other people come along and you are forced to make your moves in small and medium pots a lot of the times. at 6-max you have far more opportunities to see heads up flops in position vs bad players. however, i rarely find myself putting my stack in at FR (now that i have adjusted somewhat) with very much doubt in my mind which way the pot is going/what the villain has, which is very nice as it allows for much less stress/lower variance. [/ QUOTE ] QFT. I do believe that the main difference between 6max and FR is at 6mas you are playing the player while at FR you are playing the table. |

Re: Full ring softer than 6m?
at full ring i dont think you can ever have a swing worse than 10 buy ins(not very likely). at 6 max you can probably drop somthing like 30.

Re: Full ring softer than 6m?
A drop of 30bi at 6max is really unlikely as long as you don't play mid high stakes.

Re: Full ring softer than 6m?
I think it really depends on your personal style (and your opponents). It's more than just a LAG/TAG thing. If you play really well in or against the blinds, I imagine 6max is more profitable. If you don't, then maybe not so much. In FR you still have to play the player, but your memory has to be longer, and you have to realize that your 'image' is often less relevant because a lot of players won't be paying much attention to you.
