Meh. It's funnier when he makes them at least a little plausible so that a couple people believe him. That's where the laughs come from in the first place. Also, they don't really have the long meandering interesting quality to them. It's just like "this one thing happened. The end."

Maybe you could combine the stories. Like say that your girlfriend was hiding aces in her cleavage, built her stack up to $9,000 in a 2/5 game and then got caught at which point she scooped her chips into her backpack and ran off into the woods.
