He apologized for making the statement, but didn't retract the sentiments in the statement. He pretty much said, "I just should have kept my mouth shut," i.e., not reveal my hatred of gays on the radio.

I honestly think this will blow over pretty quickly because Hardaway himself is a minority. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are not going to show up at a press conference tomorrow morning in Miami and denounce Hardaway.

Plus, I don't think he really has a career now, just living off his NBA millions.
