I cashed a $2500 and a $3k check from chexx at 2 different US Banks. No problems whatsoever. I don't have an account and I payed $5/check.

I used to work at a bank as a teller. If a non-customer came in to cash a check that was drawn off our bank we would get ID, a thumbprint and look up the acct # on the check to be sure the funds were available. There is absolutely no way that US Bank would cash my checks if the were drawn off a 'different' US Bank.

or...if other people have had success cashing them at other U.S. Bank locations, call one closer to you and verify the check is drawn off them and open an account there with the check and withdrawal the next day of open an account with another check and cash it the same or next day.

I bank with US bank and used to work there so I know how their processes work. They ran my check from AP/Chexx through their system which means the funds came out of the account it was drawn off of and put directly into my account with no hold. In otherwords, they cashed the check and deposited the cash directly into my account. This was 2 weeks ago tomorrow.

So basically, what you're saying is that:

1)the check is good, but
2)it's not drawn on 'the' U.S. Bank, so branches of 'the' U.S. Bank won't cash them on the spot?

You should edit your OP, it looks like you're trying to say "US banks" in general and causing paranoia.
