I would put Urlacher at #1, but there are a couple of other guys (Merriman obv., Julian Peterson, Ray-Ray when healthy) who are also very very good.

Shaun, like all other RBs, are very dependant on their O-lines. That's why I think most are overrated. Shaun and his backup (can't remember his name) were very effective the last couple of years with Walter and company blocking. This year without Hutch and injuries to their line as well as injuries to Shaun (I honestly think he was hurt all year), they weren't that effective.

In no particular order:

Adalius Thomas
Brian Urlacher
Shawne Merriman
DeMarcus Ware
Lance Briggs

Is this just from last year? Adalius really hasn't been that prolific. The last 2 years he's really started playing very well though.

Would quickest be a better word? Maybe he isn't the fastest, but he seems to get to the ball carrier as fast as any other MLB in the league due to good anticipation.

I agree the position of RB is probably overrated, because the O-line is such a huge factor in wahtever it is a RB does. But I don't know that Shaun Alexander specifically is overrated.

How about Brett Favre? I know he's awesome, but some people think he's God.
